Spüge Monkey

3 Dancing Skeletons with Top Hats
Uncle Elvis

Way back in 1569,Guido Columbus (Chris' Cuz) discovered an island off the west central Florida coast.

After Elvis bought the island (located in the Pine Float Keys) in 1965, a cave was found. Inside were artifacts, cave drawings, and musical instruments in surprisingly good condition.

How they got there is unclear. Some say a band of Strato-Scratchers on a world wide tour washed up in a hurricane. Others aren't so sure. They think space ships deposited them and then cut out for the next galaxy, trusting the locals would know what to do with the items they had left.

All seem to agree, however, that a group of monkeys found these treasures and would gather around fires and jam late into the night. They developed their own style of rock and roll, sort of an Acid Blues thing, and would entertain those on the neighboring islands. Most of the neighbors seemed to enjoy it, although, some really wished they wore shoes to throw.

One day, Elvis sent some flunkies to scout out the island. They came upon a small boy who was being raised by the monkeys. The small one didn't say much, but he could really make the guitar in his grubby little hands make some sweet sounds.

While the flunkies were deciding what to do with the little guy, he scampered off into the weeds. They searched and searched, but could not find him. They searched for several days, but finally had to give up and return to Graceland with the bad news that they had lost the little guy.

This could be the only known picture of Papa as a small child

Thirty years later, the man known as Papa Spüge shows up with a guitar and an amazing ability to copy the cave drawings.
